At Blue Hound Brew, dogs aren't just in our name — they're woven into everything we do. From the moment we started roasting, we've believed that great coffee is more than what's in the cup. It's about the community that gathers around it. And community means showing up for the ones who can't speak for themselves.

That's why we were thrilled to be part of this year's Mardi Growl, Knoxville's beloved dog-friendly celebration, as an opportunity to support one of the causes closest to our hearts: Young-Williams Animal Center. We made a donation in conjunction with the event, and we're proud to shine a light on the incredible work this organization does every single day.

Who Is Young-Williams Animal Center?

Young-Williams is the backbone of animal welfare in Knoxville. As an open-admission shelter, they never turn an animal away — regardless of age, health, or circumstance. Their mission is straightforward and powerful: a home for every pet. To get there, they run adoption programs, spay and neuter services, a Pet Resource Center, foster networks, and community outreach — all driven by a team that shows up every day with genuine compassion and dedication.

In 2024 alone, they facilitated over 5,000 adoptions, connecting thousands of animals with the loving families they deserved. That's 5,000 lives changed — for both the animals and the people who welcomed them home.
