Music City Blend Coffee

This coffee ended up being a standout from the very first grind. The beans look fresh, evenly roasted, and have that rich, slightly oily sheen you expect from a proper dark roast. There was nothing on the bag to tell me if this was a drip grind or a percolator grind so I went with drip because the grind seemed pretty coarse. The scent when I opened the bag was nice. Nutty, fresh, toasty, not burned-smelling as happens with some dark roasts. There was nothing on the bag about how much to use so I used the same as I do for other coffees. I made a pot full and was a little disappointed that the resulting coffee was only more of a medium roast. I could see through to the bottom of my cup. In the picture I show the pot of coffee, and the light comes through it in a reddish color. The taste was not bitter or burned but it was not strong or dark or rich like I was hoping from the description on the bag. I have to say, after that one cup I could already feel the caffeine hitting. Some people may want that but I like to have two cups and not get the zooms from caffeine. Overall, a bit expensive for average coffee.

I've been using Blue Hound beans for a little over a year and have tried various other local brands throughout that time. Blue Hound (Medium/Dark Roast) is by far my favorite bean I've used with my Breville. I've also had my non-Nashvillian friends try their beans and they've said the same! Can't recommend enough

I was a little skeptical trying this because the last few coffees I’ve tried from Amazon were a little underwhelming to say the least.This blend was definitely on the darker side but the flavor was still smooth and not too acidic or artificial tasting.I enjoy my coffee with cream and sugar and this blend was smooth and woke me up nicely. My only slight downside was the grind itself. The grounds were a little gritty and chunky and I prefer a fine powder. I threw the coffee in my bean grinder and got it to my liking. To each their own and this didn’t make it unusable or taste any different, I just find that a larger grind leaves some coffee grounds behind in my coffee and I can’t stand the gritty feeling in my mouth.

This is the perfect blend of a medium and dark roast. I use it for espresso and drip and absolutely love it. The beans were fresh and tasted just as good as they smelled! I’ve been shopping around for a new “daily drinker” and I definitely just found it.
