There's a new draft pour on the board at Blue Hound Brew — and this one comes with a scoop.

Nashville's first nitro cold brew bar is adding the affogato to the menu, but we're doing it our way. No espresso machine hissing behind the counter. No shortcuts. Just our signature cold brew — sourced from the top 5% of coffee beans worldwide — poured straight over a scoop of gelato from GELATANO, Nashville's own artisan gelato makers, letting the two collide in real time at your table.

Why a Cold Brew Affogato?

Traditionally, an affogato is a scoop of gelato "drowned" in a shot of hot espresso. It's simple, a little theatrical, and genuinely one of the best desserts in the coffee world.

At Blue Hound, we don't run espresso — we run cold brew on draft, nitro and otherwise, because that's what we do best. So instead of forcing an espresso machine into a bar built around slow-steeped, cold-extracted coffee, we built our own version: bold, concentrated cold brew poured tableside over gelato from GELATANO, a small-batch Nashville gelato company made from scratch with locally sourced ingredients. The result is smoother and less acidic than a traditional affogato, with the same dramatic melt-and-mix moment people love.

It's still all on draft. It's still cold brew first. It's still us.

That milk is something we don't talk about enough. It comes from pasture-raised cows on an organic operation, and it's the same milk in everything we pour — lattes, nitro drinks, and now, the affogato. It's a small detail most coffee shops skip. We don't.
